Why should you care : Because San Juan College is one of the crown jewels of Northwestern New Mexico. In order for it to remain this way in these tough times a stronger and more involved board is needed.

I moved into the Four Corners area in October 1993 and have worked with my wife in our retail Purified Water business since May 1994. Before leaving Illinois, I taught Vocational Automotive Technology for several years at two different state correctional centers. I have also supervised the Auto-Diesel Technical Training programs at two Technical Vocational schools, and have been a foreman in the Engine Test Section of Allis-Chalmers Diesel engine assembly plant. I have additional background in business management and vocational education.

I have been in public service as a vocal spokesman within the local community with the City of Farmington, and have developed a cordial relation of mutual respect with each of the City Councilors. I have served as the President of the Jackson Ditch Company, a local community irrigation ditch council. I have developed a familiarity with the processes involved in dealing with the state legislature during this tenure, and have been instrumental in securing a state grant for improvements.

You will find me to be honest and dependable, willing to assume responsibility, and eager for a challenge. My people skills include being an accomplished mediator and an empathetic listener.

I ask that you consider me as your candidate. I look forward to serving you and your neighbors as a San Juan College Board Trustee.
